Gnome 2 for AIX 5

Information

Here are the packages of: (updated 2006/12/19 by Christophe Belle):

Gnome v 2.14.0 for AIX 5
Gnome v 2.16.1 for AIX 5 (testing).

Previous versions of Gnome for AIX (check version of both Gnome and AIX) :

- Gnome for AIX 4.3.3 is no more supported, please upgrade to Gnome 2.14 which can only be done on AIX 5,
- Gnome for AIX 5 from version 2.2.1 to 2.10 is no more supported, please upgrade to Gnome 2.14 below,
- Gnome 2.12.0 for AIX 5 is still supported for a while and available here.
Better upgrade to Gnome 2.14.0 below.

The minimum level recommanded for AIX is 5.1.0.x (whatever x, use "lslpp -l  | grep bos.mp" to check).

These packages are in RPM format, so rpm fileset should be installed if not already on your system :

Installation

To install all the packages :

Put all the packages in a directory and type : rpm -Uvh *.rpm

To install a subset of packages, e.g. binary packages :
Put all the packages in a directory and type : rpm -Uvh *.aix.*.rpm

To install a subset of packages, e.g. sources packages :
Put all the packages in a directory and type : rpm -Uvh *.src.*.rpm
